How to stay mentally and physically fit during the COVID 19 lockdown?

Stay fit and healthy in corona

It is required to stay mentally and physically fit during the lock down due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19. It is rare to see so many major countries of the world being shut down for such a long period of time.

People are now staying indoors, working from home, washing their hands more frequently, avoiding socialization, and much more. The major change in lifestyle can have a drastic impact on the well being of an individual. This being said it is the need of the hour to address the mental and physical health of the world’s population.

How to balance the sudden change in lifestyle?

There is always the possibility of people running into denial when it comes to changes. Somewhere in their mind, they feel everything will go back to normal someday. So instead of embracing the change, they are constantly thinking about when will things get back to normal. This state of being in denial can lead to a deteriorating effect on the mental well being of the individual. I request the readers to give themselves a small pep talk about the situation they are facing right now. Learn to accept it, as is better to accept and thrive.

Acceptance of the situation is the first step to a healthy mind. The next thing that anyone can do is fix a schedule. Always be ready with a plan B. You must realize that the entire world is going through this situation and it is not just you who has to deal with a lot. We are all in this together.

Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome.

Prepare a plan to achieve your goals with the ongoing conditions. Take up online courses to brush up your skills to replace the lost internships. Learn some new set of tricks to solve your favorite mathematics problem. Write down your feelings in the form of poetry. Maintain a journal depicting your life in Quarantine. There can be many things one can do to feel good about them.

Don’t feel bad about being lost in your journey.

This change is not easy. You will see people doing a lot of things for fun in their homes on social media while you are barely able to cope up with your normal healthy lifestyle. It is completely okay to feel this way. It is advised to give your mental health a big priority during this time. Focus on the better aspects of life such as you getting to spend some quality time with yourself. Feel every breath pass through your system. Look at the nature outside your window. Go to the terrace and have some evening tea while embracing the view. Give yourself a facial with home ingredients after following the YouTube channels, etc.
